Gemma’s passion for sport started through playing and coaching which has shaped her career of more than 24 years across the industry. Starting out at British Gymnastics before moving to the England and Wales Cricket Board in 2023, she has led national and international participation and inclusion programmes to drive cultural change in sport.
Gemma is currently Head of Strategic Growth at the ECB, responsible for growing the game with a specific focus on increasing participation among women and girls and people from ethnically diverse and under-represented communities. As part of the planning and delivery of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, Gemma led the tournament participation strategy, helping to deliver record-breaking participation and, importantly, using the moment to create longer-term change across the recreational game.
With a career built around access and equity, Gemma brings a practical and people-focused perspective on how we can create meaningful long-term change in sport.
