Matt Draper has been responsible for leading the work to support golf clubs, counties and facilities since January 2021. In this role, he oversees a team that focusses on key growth and development support, including the work to bring more women and juniors into golf and membership, as well as the work done to enable good governance, embed inclusive practices, membership growth, and golf provision in relation to local authority planning.
Matt joined England Golf in September 2019 as a Regional Manager, bringing valuable operational experience from his previous role as General Manager of Tadmarton Heath Golf Club in Oxfordshire. A passionate golfer from an early age, he first picked up a club at just four years old and currently plays to a handicap of one. Among his golfing highlights are representing Bournemouth University in national finals and previously holding the world record as the youngest person to make a hole-in-one at the age of five.
